The Great Renunciation
Peace! Inner Peace! from the Great Renunciation,
We all dear to grace, even the minutest creation.
Rich or poor, well or unwell, high or low- but all,
Ultimate peace is for one with no attachment at all.
Freed from the worldly pleasures in pleasing cease,
The Father of Renunciation - gotten inner peace.
Buddha! Siddhartha Gautama- the Awaken one,
The founder of Buddhism- a code on kindness alone.
Atop an uninhabited, tranquil and empty cave,
Magnificence with last rays, are that men’s crave.
But no sooner, all that he desire are in darkness,
So are you and I, in a tick will fall to emptiness.
Feels of afar past or future, steel this very present,
Our untamed mind is as wild as animals just sent.
Happiness is within us but locked away by delusions,
Open now with kindness and mindfulness in actions.
